National Competition for Young Instrumentalists and Singers "Svetoslav Obretenov" Provadia 2018 On September 25, 2018 in the auditorium of the renovated community center was officially opened the XXVI National Competition for Young Instrumentalists and Singers "Svetoslav Obretenov" Provadia 2018. Hometown of the composer , whose name the competition bears, has once again become a center for the expression of young musical talents from all over the country. The opening traditionally began with the symbolic counting of twenty-six bells from the bas-relief of the composer in the music school that bears his name. The competition, unique with the performance only of Bulgarian music, was opened by Prof. Pavel Gerdjikov - Chairman of the Organizing Committee and the Mayor of Provadia Municipality Eng. Filcho Filev. At the twenty-sixth edition, the flag was raised by the youngest participant - eight-year-old fellow citizen Emil Ivelinov, majoring in piano, prepared by music teacher Darinka Tarakchieva. During the solemn part congratulatory addresses were given to six members of the esteemed jury and the organizing committee, including Prof. Pavel Gerdjikov, Prof. Elisaveta Kazakova, Prof. Svilen Raichev, Prof. Mila Dyulgerova, Assoc. Prof. Yasen Obretenov, Prof. Dr. Yasen Teodosiev and Mr. Rumen Djurov - representative of the Ministry of Culture. On September 27 at 18:30 in the hall of the National Chitalishte "Aleko Konstantinov 1884" - Provadia, was awarded the participants of the first and second age groups and the winners of the National Competition for Young Instrumentalists and Singers "Svetoslav Obretenov" 2018. The awards were presented by Prof. Pavel Gerdjikov - Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the competition. All participants from the second age group, in the specialties of piano, violin, viola, double bass, clarinet, bassoon and zugtrombone, ranked from first to third place, receive a one-year scholarship from the Ministry of Culture under the Program for Protection of Gifted Children. The accompanists of the young musicians also received special diplomas for their participation in the competition. The flag of the XXVI National Park "Svetoslav Obretenov" was lowered by: Atanas Atanasov Petkov, double bass, assisted by Jana Slavolyub Kostova, women's singing and Velina Krasimirova Petkova, violin. With the removal of the flag, Prof. Pavel Gerdjikov declared the XXVI National Park "Svetoslav Obretenov" closed. Those present in the hall of the National Chitalishte "Aleko Konstantinov 1884" enjoyed the wonderful performance of the participants in the final concert of the winners of the first and second age group and the winners of the third age group of the XXVI National Competition for Young Instrumentalists and Singers "Svetoslav Obretenov" - Provadia 2018. The host of the concert program was Miss Dima Vicheva, winner of second prize, piano, first "B" group of the 24th National Theater "Svetoslav Obretenov". Participants and hosts parted with the promise of new meetings on the music scene in Provadia in April 2020 at the XXVII National Park "Svetoslav Obretenov".
