The 26th International Youth Music Competition "Hopes, Talents, Masters"
XXVI INTERNATIONAL YOUTH MUSIC COMPETITION "HOPES, TALENTS, MASTERS" DOBRICH, BULGARIA 4 - 8 SEPTEMBER 2023
The competition is present and takes place in the wonderful Neli Bozhkova Hall of Mirrors, known to musicians in Bulgaria and around the world as the chamber hall with the best acoustics and creative atmosphere. Here's a little history: "Nelli Bojkova" Hall of Mirrors was conceived and realized as part of the architectural project "Drama Theater "Yordan Yovkov" with authors arch. Racho Stoyanov and arch. Sofia Branikova. This project was realized at the beginning of the 80s of the last century /1982/ and is part of the construction program related to the celebration of 1300 years since the establishment of the Bulgarian state. The building is notable for its modern architectural style, and the "Neli Bozhkova" Hall of Mirrors is still not only one of the most representative in the country, but also one of the halls with the best acoustics. The authors of the project are faced with a serious task - to create a sacred space that can be perceived as a place where all arts meet. Hall of Mirrors has 140 seats. It impresses with the mural work "The Struggle between Good and Evil" by Academician Ivan Kirkov - wet fresco technique, and with its interior design - deep niches, decoration of plaster ornaments on the walls and ceilings, Viennese crystal mirrors, chandeliers and furniture made in baroque style. A "Steinway" grand piano was ordered and delivered especially for her - a global brand of grand pianos with an uncompromising standard for sound, touch and beauty. Until 2005, the hall was known as the Hall of Mirrors, because of the 10 crystal Viennese mirrors mounted on the walls using special technology. On October 28, 2005, with its Decision /35-18/, the Municipal Council of the city of Dobrich gave the hall the name of the world-famous opera singer born in Dobrich - Neli Bozhkova.
