In the period 7-9 April 2022 for the 25th consecutive year Chitalishte "Brotherhood 1869" will host the International Competition for Classical Guitar, which provides a field for guitarists, musicians and composers from the country and abroad, who came to show their talent and skills in the field of classical music.
The official opening of the competition will be on April 7 at 17:00 in the Great Hall of the Chitalishte. During the three days of the festival, in addition to the competition program for different age groups, master classes and recitals of outstanding guitarists from the country and abroad will be held.
The young musical talents will be evaluated by a professional international jury - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosen Balkanski - composer and lecturer at the NMA "Prof. P. Vladigerov ”Sofia, Prof. Dr. Stella Miteva-Dinkova - lecturer at AMTII" Prof. A. Diamandiev ”Plovdiv, Prof. Dr. Uroš Dojčinović - composer and lecturer, Belgrade, Serbia, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elena Horoshavina - lecturer at the Odessa NMA“ A. V. Nezhdanova ”, Ukraine, Dr. Milena Valcheva - lecturer at NUMTI“ D. Petkov ”Plovdiv, Dr. Nelly Nedeva - lecturer at NSI“ D. Hristov ”Varna, Dr. Stolina Dobreva - Director of NMU“ L. Pipkov ”Sofia and others.
The participants in the competition will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills in the master classes of prominent guitarists such as Darko Bageski from Northern Macedonia, Viktor Ilic and Alexander Hadjidjordjevic - Serbia, Ognyan Valev - Bulgaria.
In the evening concert program the Kyustendil audience will be able to enjoy the performances of the Guitar Quintet "Plovdiv" - Dr. Milena Valcheva, Prof. Dr. Stella Dinkova, Kalin Georgiev, Joana Tiholova and Kostadin Dinkov; Piano trio - Rosen Idealov - clarinet, Georgita Boyadzhieva - cello, Alexander Vasilenko - piano; Mandolin Quintet "Seasons" and others.
The International Classical Guitar Competition is organized annually under the patronage of the Mayor of Kyustendil - Mr. Petar Paunov. Artistic director is Mr. Ivan Andonov. The competition is included in the Program for protection of gifted children of the Ministry of Culture, which annually provides targeted financial support and one-year scholarships for those who won the first three places in the second and third age groups.
