Competition for young pianists "Dimitar Nenov" was held 14 times from 2001 to 2022. The competition repertoire required to include works by Dimitar Nenov. It is divided into two competitions - international and national.
The International Competition for Young pianists "Dimitar Nenov" is organized by the Razgrad Philharmonic "Prof. Dimitar Nenov" to the Theater and Music Center, Municipality of Razgrad, Regional History Museum with house-museum "Dimitar Nenov" and the Ministry of Culture.
The National Competition for Young Pianists "Dimitar Nenov" is organized by the Communicty Center "Razivitie - 1869" and the Regional History Museum-House "Dimitar Nenov".
In 1982 "Creative meeting", which was a typical type of event in music education, started in Razgrad and in 2001 it was titled as "Competition". This first edition was not defined neither 'international' nor 'national'.
In 2004, a second edition of the international competition was announced. Since then, international competitions have been held as follows:
