The composition competition named after the great Bulgarian composer and conductor Prof. Ivan Spasov will be held in Plovdiv from November 25 to 27, 2022 under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Culture.

REGULATION
I. Conditions of participation
1. Candidates can take part in the competition, without age limit and
nationality.
2. The competition is held in two categories:
Category A:
Chamber, vocal-instrumental work for a composition of up to four performers. Duration - up to 20 minutes.
Category B:
Cyclic piece for keyboard instrument (piano, organ, harpsichord or accordion). Duration - up to 20 minutes.
3. Each candidate can present up to two works from the same category or by
one entry from each category.
4. Candidates send by 31.10.2022 (by postmark) the following
materials in a common package:
a) a sealed envelope with the competition work(s) and, if possible, a CD with a recording (DEMO
version) of the same(s);
b) a sealed, opaque envelope in which a sheet with the name of the applicant is placed;
c) a sealed opaque envelope containing a request for participation (according to the attached sample)
and a document for the paid participation fee in the amount of BGN 50 to a bank account

5. The competition is anonymous.
On the envelopes and on the scores of the works, there should be no markings violating anonymity.

The Operational Board does not undertake to return the materials submitted by the applicants.
In case the candidate refuses to participate in the competition, the fee is not refunded.
II. Jury:
1. The presented works are evaluated by a jury, which includes prominent Bulgarians
composers and conductors.
2. The jury works according to the regulations approved by the Operational Council.
3. The jury has the right not to award all announced prizes.
4. The decisions of the jury are final.
III. Awards:
1. The prizes for each category are:
First prize: €500
Second prize: €350
Third prize: €200
Special award from Pazardzhik Municipality
2. Other prizes (from foundations, private individuals, etc.) may be awarded at discretion
to the jury.
3. The Operational Council assists the award-winning works to be included in the concert poster of AMTII "Prof. Asen Diamandiev" - season 2022-2023.
