XXVI NATIONAL COMPETITION
FOR PERFORMANCE OF BULGARIAN MUSICAL WORK
VARBAN VARBANOV
REGULATIONS
І. General
- The National Competition for Performance of Bulgarian Musical Work "Varban Varbanov" is organized by the National School of Music and Performing Arts "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" - Burgas and UN "Native Sounds" with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture, Municipality of Burgas, Burgas District Administration.
- The national competition "Varban Varbanov" will be held on April 29 - 30, 2022 in Burgas.
- The competition is for instrumentalists and singers.
ІІ. Age groups and specialties
- Instrumentalists and singers, students in the high school stage of education - VIII - XII grade have the right to participate in the competition.
- No exceptions are allowed in the age group.
- Specialties - piano, violin and viola, cello and double bass, classical guitar, woodwind instruments, brass wind instruments, percussion instruments, classical singing.
- Category "Accompaniment" - complete accompaniment of the competition program of one individual participant in the competition or in the III National Competition for young performers of Bulgarian music. Applicants in the Accompaniment category do not pay a registration fee and participate in the competition program without the right to receive a scholarship under the Program for the Protection of Gifted Children for 2022.
III. Competition program
1. The competition program includes:
• obligatory work, determined by the organizers;
• one or more works by Bulgarian composers, at the choice of the participant;
2. Total duration of the competition program from 7 to 10 minutes.

4. The competition program shall be performed by heart, with the exception of membrane percussion instruments.
5. In case of non-compliance with the conditions for the maximum duration of the program, the jury has the right to suspend the participant.
IV. Conditions for participation
1. The registration for participation in the competition is carried out only electronically on e-mail: konkursi_numsi@abv.bg by April 10, 2022 and contains the following information:
• Application for participation (Appendix № 1)
• Official note certifying the class and the school where the student is studying
• Document for paid registration fee in the amount of BGN 40 (forty).

When filling in the bank documents, the name of the participant should appear.
Collective transfer of several participants to a joint payment order is allowed. In this case, the scanned bank transfer document must be accompanied by a list of participants.
2. The submission of an application for participation shall be deemed to be in accordance with the rules of the competition.
3. Registration fees are non-refundable.
4. Travel and stay in Burgas are at the expense of the participants in the competition.
5. The organizers do not commit to the accommodation.
6. The organizers do not undertake to provide an accompanist.
7. The order of appearance in the competition is determined by official lot.
8. All participants will receive information about the date and time of the acoustic rehearsal and participation in the competition.
9. The participants are provided with rehearsal halls in the building of the National School of Music and Performing Arts "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov".
V. Prize fund and jury
1. For each of the specialties a jury composed of artists and pedagogues in the field of musical art shall award the following prizes:
• First prize - subject and diploma
• Second prize - subject and diploma
• Third prize - subject and diploma
• Special awards for the best performance of the obligatory work
• Incentive prizes
• Award of the Mayor of Burgas
• Awards from public organizations, companies and individuals
2. The composition of the jury is determined by the organizers of the competition.
3. The rules of procedure of the jury are part of the rules of the competition and are published on the official website of the school (Appendix № 2).
VI. Final provisions
1. The competition is proposed for inclusion in the Program of measures for the protection of gifted children for 2022.
2. The program is adopted by a decree of the Council of Ministers.
3. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to amend the Regulation, undertaking to notify the participants in good time and to request their consent to participate in the competition, in accordance with the new conditions.
