REGULATIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

PARTICIPANTS: soloists, composers and ensemble members in all types of chamber ensembles who have not reached the age of 35 by April 30 (the average age of the participants is considered an ensemble).

 

REPERTORY

SOLOISTS - two plays of your choice, 1. A virtuoso concert etude or a short virtuoso piece, 2. A play related to the theme of the Earth and Nature, reflected in the title of the work or in written documents (memories, letters, etc.). The jury reserves the right to shorten long plays.

CHAMBER ENSEMBLES - one or several works of choice, close to the theme of the Earth and Nature with a duration of not less than 10 minutes.

PIANO ENSEMBLES - in two stages

I. piano 4 hands - 1st stage: a) Mozart - Andante with 5 variations K 501 in G major; b) a play of your choice. Stage 2: a play of your choice related to the theme of Earth and Nature or a play by Schubert

II. two pianos 4 hands - 1st stage: a) Mozart - Sonata in D major I part or fugue; b) play of choice; Stage 2: a play of your choice related to the theme of Earth and Nature or a play by Brahms.

COMPOSERS - Each participant presents a solo (with or without accompaniment) or ensemble (up to ten participants) work of any kind - instrumental or vocal, with a program character related to the theme of Earth and Nature. Participation in works for electronic instruments is excluded. Duration of the work - not less than 8 minutes and not more than 30 minutes. The composer himself ensures the performance of his work "live" during the competition. For foreign participants, as well as for Bulgarians abroad, participation with audio recording is allowed. The musical text is attached to the recording. The recording will be listened to during the competition if the composer is allowed to appear after the preliminary selection of the musical text. If the foreign participant or the Bulgarian abroad wishes his work to be performed "live" during the competition, he must contact the Secretariat one month before the start of the competition to negotiate the terms. The music material provided by the composers is returned to the authors after the end of the competition.

In case the number of participants is too large, the jury reserves the right to shorten the duration of their performances.

 

REQUEST FOR PARTICIPATION

The completed application should be sent to the Secretariat of the competition by April 12. Attached: photography (5x4 cm) and a short creative biography in Bulgarian or English.

Composers must also send the musical text of the work by April 12 in order to make a preliminary selection by a local jury by eliminating non-professional compositions.

Candidates will be notified of their admission to the competition and the program for its holding until April 30.

for soloist - BGN 15; for a participant in a chamber ensemble - BGN 10; for composer - BGN 15

In case of non-appearance of participants, the paid fees will not be refunded.

During the competition, audio and video recording for non-commercial and advertising purposes is possible without payment of royalties and related fees.

 

AWARDS

The prize fund of the competition worth a total of BGN 8,000 includes:

1. The big prize of the competition - bronze sculpture "Music and the Earth" by Mincho Minev and a cash prize.

2. First, Second and Third prizes for all categories - laureate diploma and cash prize.

3. Special prizes - diploma and cash prize.

The awarded works will be published in a CD from the collection "Green Angels", which will be offered for broadcast on Bulgarian and foreign radio stations.

The awarded participants are obliged to participate in the final concert of the winners free of charge. The number of awards and rankings are determined by an International Jury composed of prominent performers, educators and composers. The decisions of the jury are unconditional and final and are not subject to change.
